The French Embassy in Jordan, in partnership with the Jordan Green Building Council, launched its first annual event, "Environment Week". This year, students from a group of the council university members took part in a solid waste management competition.
The Jordan Green Building Council, in cooperation with the French Embassy and the French Institute in Jordan, and under the generous sponsorship of the Council Platinum member, Orange Jordan, held a training course on “Solid Waste Management” for the competing teams in the “Solid Waste Management Competition.”
This training course is one of the benefits Jordan GBC offers to the members from university students. The members of Jordan GBC Ahl al-Balad initiative also participated as guest speakers to motivate the participants and spread positivity before the start of the competition by sharing their stories and experiences in waste management.
On the third day of the “Introduction to Solid Waste Management” training course, a field visit was held to the Ghabawi landfill for the competing teams in the “Solid Waste Management Competition” accompanied by the lecturer of the Green Academy, Eng. Basem Suliman. The Council concluded the solid waste management competition for students of universities that are members of the Council, during which three winners were selected by a jury from a group of experts.
