Samer Al Ratrout

Dr. Al-Ratrout, of Amman, Jordan, was awarded both the Bachelor Degree of Science in Architectural Engineering and the Master Degree of Science in Urban Design from the University of Jordan. He was awarded also the PhD. Degree in Architecture from Texas A&M University, USA. Dr. Al-Ratrout is certified as a Consulting Architect and has a professional certificate in Heritage Preservation from the United States. Through utilizing digitally-mediated-design solutions, he practiced Architectural Design for more than two decades with extensive involvement of innovative trends, sustainability and heritage preservation. He served in many firms in Jordan and abroad where he started as a designer and planner and progressively promoted to be an associate architect and projects manager. He currently holds a position of Senior Lead Architect at Dar Al-Handasah (shair and partners).
Dr. Al-Ratrout holds the rank of assistant professor of architecture and previously served as a faculty member at the Department of Architecture at Jordan University and at the school of Architecture and Built Environment at German-Jordanian University. Since his graduation, Dr. Al-Ratrout dedicated his efforts into serving the community in Jordan where he was elected as a member in the directing board of Jordan Architects Society and as a member in the Central Committee of Jordan Engineers Association.
Dr. Al-Ratrout is an active member in several local and international professional communities as in, World Architecture Community (WA), Jordanian Architects Society (JAS), Center for Heritage Conservation, USA (CHC), Arab Society for Computer Aided Architectural Design (ASCAAD), Heritage Resources Imaging Lab, USA (HRIL), Jordanian Engineers Association (JEA) and Jordan Green Building Council (JGBC). He is also a member in several Scientific, administrative and public committees, where he introduced many publications and was involved in many conferences and public lectures in Jordan and abroad.

During his career, Dr. Al-Ratrout received several local and international recognitions, including “Kenneth Anderson Award” from Historic American Building Surveys – USA, “Peterson Prize” from the National Park Services – USA. and the Fulbright Award from the Department of State, USA. Dr. Al-Ratrout Career Mission is to provide affirmative, realistic, superior and proficient support to society, academia and profession to facilitate realizing and envisioning aspirations while appreciating and sustaining the inherited environment and heritage.
